Sorgente.net announce the integration with Amazon Web Services for delivering On-Demand Business Applications

December 17, 2007 - Sorgente.net, the on-demand service platform for open source business applications, have chosen the web-scale virtual computing environment powered by Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud™ and Simple Storage Service™.

Elastic Cloud Computing is an approach to application development and deloyment  that enables hardware, bandwidth and storage resource usage in a flexible and elastic way. Each system can be scaled on the fly, without affecting other applications deployed on the grid. Elastic Cloud Computing is achieved on a Virtualized Grid Environment, a virtualized operating system (Linux, Windows, Unix) on many servers all at once, instead of traditional deployment of single operating system to a single machine.Amazon Web Services

Compute capacity can be scaled up or down on demand to accommodate changing workloads and business requirements.

"AWS computing changes the economics of our business by enabling our customers to pay only for the capacity that they actually use. This allow us to concentrate on our core business, building business applications", said Francesco Hemmeler, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Sorgente.net. "Our Customers no longer have to think about implementing infrastructures and they can focus on their processes, scaling performances without having to invest in new hardware"
